Youth Symphony Listening Program
Let every child learning music
Hear the true sound of the world's top orchestras
Through a 1.68 million yuan Hi-Fi system
"Learning an instrument isn't just about playing well—it's about knowing what good sound really is."
PROJECT ORIGIN
Why This Program Was Launched
China has 40 million young instrumentalists. They sit at the piano or with their violin for one to two hours daily, practicing fingerings, intonation, and rhythm—but few ever tell them what "good sound" truly means.
A child learning the violin, who has never heard the Berlin Philharmonic or the Vienna Philharmonic live, how can they know what tone to strive for?
A child learning piano, who has only heard Canon and Clair de Lune through a phone speaker, how can they understand why a 300-year-old piece still moves people to tears?
The core issue isn't a lack of effort—it's that the sound they hear isn't good enough.
The DIBEISI Youth Symphony Listening Program aims to bring top-tier Hi-Fi audio into the musical world of young people, offering the highest sound standards at the lowest cost, so they can experience music from the world's finest orchestras and performers—recreating the authentic feel of a live symphony concert. The program primarily targets members of the Idyllic Symphony Youth Public Welfare Orchestra's A-level and B-level ensembles, but other music-learning youth in Beijing are also welcome. Currently, listening sessions are held at the DIBEISI Beijing Audio Hall every Sunday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The hall features five exhibition rooms equipped with Hi-Fi systems ranging from tens of thousands to 1.68 million yuan, all available as audio-visual resources for guided listening experiences at various levels.
CORE PHILOSOPHY
What This Program Aims to Achieve
01
Hear True Sound with Top-Tier Equipment
Phone speakers and ordinary Bluetooth speakers cannot capture the layers and details of a symphony. The five exhibition rooms at the DIBEISI Beijing Audio Hall are equipped with Hi-Fi systems ranging from tens of thousands to 1.68 million yuan, faithfully reproducing the sound of a concert hall—every instrument's position, every section's breath, every dynamic shift—clear and discernible. This is the "good sound" that music-learning children deserve to hear.
02
Lowest Cost, Highest Standards
A concert ticket costs hundreds or thousands of yuan, and even then, the seat may not offer optimal acoustics. Through the DIBEISI Listening Program, young people simply walk into the DIBEISI Beijing Audio Hall and use top-tier equipment to hear performances by the world's greatest orchestras and soloists—the richness of the Berlin Philharmonic, the elegance of the Vienna Philharmonic, the transparency of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
03
Listening to Music Elevates Aesthetic Taste
Musical aesthetics aren't taught—they are absorbed. When a child repeatedly listens to top orchestras performing Beethoven, Mozart, and Tchaikovsky, their perception of tone, understanding of musical structure, and judgment of "good sound" will steadily improve through osmosis. This process itself is the finest form of aesthetic education.
PROGRAM CONTENT
What the Listening Program Includes
🎵
Curated Classical Music Listening Library
Covering core repertoire from the Baroque to the Romantic era, from Pachelbel's Canon to Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, each piece features classic recordings by the world's top orchestras and performers. Not just any listening—listening to the best versions.
🔊
Five Exhibition Rooms: Hi-Fi Experience from Tens of Thousands to 1.68 Million Yuan
The DIBEISI Beijing Audio Hall has five exhibition rooms equipped with professional Hi-Fi systems at various price points. This allows young people to directly perceive differences in sound quality—from entry-level clarity to flagship concert-hall soundscapes, progressively sharpening their auditory discernment. Every Sunday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, guided listening sessions are led by staff.
📖
Music Guidance and Aesthetic Direction
Each piece is accompanied by historical context and listening guides, helping young people understand "why this piece sounds good" and "what makes it special." Not passive listening, but appreciation with understanding.
🎻
Deep Integration with Instrument Learning
Children currently learning an instrument or voice can use the top-tier equipment in the listening space to repeatedly hear master performances—feeling what true tone and musical expression really are. This raises the ceiling of their playing more than any practice method.
WHAT CHILDREN WILL GAIN
How Listening to Music Can Change Them
👂
Establish a Standard for "Good Sound"
Having heard a symphony through top-tier Hi-Fi, they will develop their own judgment of "good sound." This auditory standard will accompany them for life.
🎨
Enhance Musical Aesthetic Ability
Aesthetics aren't taught—they are absorbed. Repeatedly hearing master performances naturally deepens their understanding of tone, structure, and emotional expression.
📈
Raise the Ceiling of Instrumental Performance
Children who listen to many master performances will unconsciously steer their own sound toward that standard. The ear must arrive first, then the hands can follow.
🌍
Broaden Musical Horizons
From Baroque to Romantic, from solo to symphonic, systematically encountering three centuries of the greatest musical works builds a complete framework for understanding classical music.
Let every child learning music
