From 18:00 to 19:00 on September 21, the opening exchange event for the Idyllic Symphony Youth Public Welfare Orchestra Beiyuan Subdistrict 2026 Fall Beginner Violin Class was successfully held. Thirty families attended, and the atmosphere was lively.

Director's Speech, Orchestra Appearance
Tian Lifu, Director of the Idyllic Symphony Youth Public Welfare Orchestra, delivered a speech on site, introducing the orchestra's origins and philosophy to the parents and children present: Idyllic Symphony is a public welfare project sponsored by the Violin Temple Treasure Hall, with rehearsals, performances, and competitions completely free of charge; all faculty members come from national-level ensembles.
Director Tian also introduced the children's future growth path: starting from zero foundation in Orchestra B, reaching the required level in 1 to 2 years allows direct advancement to Orchestra A; children who learn well and want to continue elevating their music can choose small group classes or one-on-one lessons at Yuedingshan Bookstore; children who simply want music as a lifelong hobby are equally welcome to stay in the public welfare classes.

Teacher Hao Li: Accompanying Practice Is the Best Parent-Child Activity
Instructor Hao Li—former solo violinist of the Central Philharmonic Orchestra, a returning expert from Canada, who has taught violin for over 40 years—shared with parents a perspective that many families of young violin students overlook:
Accompanying your child during practice is a very important activity for building a good parent-child relationship.
Because accompanying practice is a parent-child activity where parents and children overcome difficulties together and solve problems together—this is completely different from shutting the child in a study to do homework alone.
After several years of parental companionship, this good parent-child relationship can last for many years to come.
Teacher Hao's experience comes largely from Canada. After settling in Canada in the 1990s, while accompanying his own children in learning and practicing violin, he did not adopt the high-pressure, tense family atmosphere of the "Lang Lang style" prevalent at the time, but rather a relatively relaxed, companion-based environment. In such an environment, the violin is not pressure, but a journey experienced together by parent and child.
Interestingly, the current state of Chinese families is already highly similar to that of Canada in the 1990s, and in many ways has even surpassed it. Therefore, the experience Teacher Hao accumulated in Canada back then is actually even more valuable as a reference in the context of today's Chinese families.

The Children's "Tricky" Questions
During the interactive session, the children's performance exceeded everyone's expectations.
Where did the violin come from? Why is the violin called a violin? Does the violin have hundreds of years of history? Why is the double bass so big?……
One after another, questions about violin history and violin knowledge popped out of the children's mouths. Today's children are truly remarkable.
Fortunately, Teacher Tian's knowledge system is all-encompassing, from lutherie craftsmanship to music history, from instrument construction to acoustic principles, answering each one. None of the questions stumped Teacher Tian, and the children's eyes were full of excitement—it turns out there are so many stories behind the violin.

Looking Forward to Next Monday's Formal Class
After the opening ceremony, the 30 families were full of anticipation for the upcoming learning. Next Monday, Teacher Hao Li will formally begin teaching, leading the children into the world of the violin—starting from getting to know the violin, step by step completing bow hold, holding the instrument, open-string sound production, and ultimately playing their first complete piece.
And tonight's event was not over yet—at 19:00, former students from the previous session returned to the classroom on time to continue their formal lessons. New and old students completed a handover on this evening: the new families have just started, while the old students are already ahead. The Idyllic Symphony public welfare classroom is passed down from generation to generation in this way.
